The role of Ras/ERK signal transduction pathway in the occurrence and development of hepatic fibrosis

Abstract: Hepatic stellate cells play a key role in the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis..The secretion of various cytokines lead to changes in extracellular information. The secreted cytokines bind to the corresponding receptors on hepatic stellate cells and then activate multiple signal transduction pathways, and extrinsic information of cells is transferred into the nucleus. It regulates the transcription and expression of gene, causing an increase in collagen secretion and an imbalance of cell matrix degradation and deposition. In the pathways involved in the occurrence and development of hepatic fibrosis, the signal transduction mediated by Ras/ERK signal transduction pathway prompts the occurrence and development of hepatic fibrosis.-
