Biological characteristics of high-mobility group box-1 and its role in the development,progression,and treatment of hepatitis B virus-related liver diseases

摘要: 高迁移率族蛋白-1(HMGB1)为高迁移率族(HMG)蛋白成员之一,存在于真核生物细胞内。HMGB1不仅是一种核内蛋白,也是一种促炎因子,体内HMGB1水平升高提示细胞破坏和炎症反应。HBV感染是全世界慢性乙型肝炎、肝硬化和肝细胞癌的主要原因。近年来,HMGB1在HBV相关肝病中的作用越来越受到关注,尤其在肝脏炎症及肝癌的进展方面起着至关重要的作用。就近年来HMGB1在HBV相关肝病的发生、发展以及治疗中作用的研究进展进行了综述。Abstract: High-mobility group box-1( HMGB1) is a member of the high-mobility group proteins and is present in eukaryotic cells.HMGB1 is not only a nuclear protein but also a pro-inflammatory factor,and the increase in HMGB1 level in the body indicates cell destruction and inflammatory response. Hepatitis B virus( HBV) infection is a major cause of chronic hepatitis B,liver cirrhosis,and hepatocellular carcinoma in the world. In recent years,the role of HMGB1 in HBV-related liver diseases has attracted more and more attention,especially the important role of HMGB1 in the progression of liver inflammation and liver cancer. This article reviews the recent research advances in the role of HMGB1 in the development,progression,and treatment of HBV-related liver diseases.
