This literature review is Part II of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) 53, Addressing Viral Hepatitis in People With Substance Use Disorders. The TIP gives healthcare providers, treatment counselors, and administrators of drug treatment programs the information they need to help their clients with past or current substance use disorders (SUDs) receive counseling, screening, referral, and followup care for hepatitis.
