SCT diagnosis and pathological analysis of hepatic angiomyolipoma

Objective To analyze the pathological characteristics and the variable appearances of hepatic angiomyolipomas on Spiral CT (SCT) and to improve the diagnostic accuracy with CT.Methods All cases were proved by surgical pathology.Spiral CT scanning of pre-and post-contrast arterial phase, portal venous phase and delay phase were performed in 10 cases.Results On CT pre-contrast scans, 9 of 10 lesions appeared as hypodense, and the remaning one appeared as slightly hyperdense.On the arterial phase, all the lesions showed enhancement, and the central vascular could be seen in 7 lesions.On the portal venous phase and the delay phase, 8 lesions remained enhanced.Conclusion SCT could demonstrate the characterization of HAML, which is helpful in making a correct diagnosis preoperatively.
