  • Objective To evaluate the expression of adiponectin and its clinical significance in combination with liver function tests and liver/spleen CT value in patients with Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) .Methods 71 NAFLD patients and 41 controls were enrolled in this study. The NAFLD patients were divided into mild, moderate and severe groups.ALT, AST, GGT, TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C and adiponectin levels were measured. The correlation between adiponetin and these factors were analyzed. Results Serum adiponectin levels, liver CT values, the CT ratio of liver and spleen were significantly lower in patients with NAFLD compared to the control group (P<0.01) .The values of BMI, ALT, AST, TG, TC, GGT and LDL-C were significantly increased in patients with NAFLD compared to the control group (P<0.01) .Adiponectin was significantly negatively correlated with BMI, ALT, AST, GGT and LDL-C, and positively correlated with CT and HDL-C values. The ALT level was significantly different between the mild and moderate, and the mild and severe NAFLD groups (P<0.05) , and was not significantly different between the moderate and severe groups (P>0.05) .Conclusion Adiponectin, when combined with ALT, has a significant clinical value in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of NAFLD.
